WORKSHOP QUALIFICATIONS
To attend this workshop, participants should have prior experience with writing. They are required to register by submitting a portfolio containing a short story, an essay, a treatment, or any other relevant writing samples. Tamer Habib will personally select participants based on the strength of their submissions.
Additionally, participants must read the designated case study book: “Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting” by Syd Field.
- Session 1: Finding Your Idea
- Understanding the creative process from inception to development.
- Exploring methods to generate and refine compelling story ideas.
- Session 2: Script Formats and Styles
- Learning about script formats used in different contexts, such as film and television.
- Contrasting French and American scriptwriting styles and techniques.
- Session 3: Developing Your Concept
- Applying principles discussed in the first session to begin fleshing out your chosen idea.
- Understanding the importance of a strong premise and character development.
- Session 4: Building Characters
- Delving deeper into character creation and arc development.
- Exploring techniques to make characters relatable and engaging.
- Session 5: Plot Structure and Outline
- Establishing the structural framework of your script.
- Creating a detailed outline to guide the narrative progression
- Session 6: Dialogue and Scene Development
- Exploring the art of writing effective dialogue.
- Developing scenes to drive the story forward and reveal character dynamics.
- Session 7: Refining Your Draft
- Revising and refining your script based on feedback and insights from previous sessions.
- Addressing narrative inconsistencies and strengthening plot elements.
- Session 8: Feedback and Revision
- Receiving constructive feedback from peers and the instructor.
- Implementing revisions to enhance the overall quality of your script.
- Session 9: Pitching Your Script
- Participants will have the opportunity to pitch and present their finalized work to Ahmed Fahmy, Founder
and CEO of SEA CINEMA film productions. This session will extend beyond the usual 3 hours to
accommodate pitches and discussions about potential avenues for production. - Case study: Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting, Syd Field

- First payment: bank transfer
- Second payment: bank transfer or cash
50% of the workshop fees confirm your registration, if you did not pay before we get the maximum number of participants, your registration is not valid.
Refund Policy
- Before two weeks of the workshop starting date participants will get a full-refund.
- During the last two weeks before the workshop starting date participants will get 50% refund of the total price
- One week before the workshop starting date participants can not refund their payment.
