This segment focuses on the critical role of VFX Supervisor during on-set shooting, covering techniques like green screen setup, motion tracking, and capturing reference data. Participants will learn how to ensure seamless integration of VFX into live-action footage.

Participants will be provided a 6 hour session of practical on set training in a plateau
This part of the workshop dives into Unreal Engine’s role in virtual production, showcasing how real-time rendering and virtual sets revolutionize filmmaking. Participants will explore tools and workflows for creating immersive environments and integrating live-action footage with CGI.

This part of the workshop provides insights into navigating the mainstream VFX industry, covering career paths, industry standards, and collaboration with filmmakers.
Participants will learn how to thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and technically demanding environment.
Nuke training with
Mohamed Mamdouh
led by Mohamed Mamdouh, offers hands-on Nuke training, teaching advanced compositing techniques and workflows used in high-end VFX production. Participants will gain practical skills to create seamless visual effects and enhance their compositing expertise.
• Overview of VFX and compositing.
• Introduction to Nuke and basic concepts like layers and nodes.
• Hands-on exercise with footage and node graph.
• Point, camera, and planar tracking.
• Students will track elements from sample clips.
• Rotoscoping, painting, and wire removal techniques.
• Practical exercise on cleaning up footage.
• Green/blue screen keying and advanced techniques in nuke.
Note: students are required to have their own laptops with nuke installed

Notes:
- Extra online sessions explaining the necessary basics of Unreal Engine will be add to prepare the students for working on a virtual set
- 2 of the 16 sessions will be practical shooting on location, these session will be 6 to 10 hours each depending on the scenes prepared
- 4 of the 16 sessions will be compositing training on Nuke with Mohamed Mamdouh
- The schedule has been adjusted to avoid Eid Al-Adha, which is expected to be in mid-June 2025.
