- Analysis of the dramatic elements in the novel and how to adapt them for the screen.
- Identification of strengths and weaknesses in the adapted version.
- Session 3: Character Building
- Basics of character building in the context of short series.
- Development of main and secondary characters concretely.
- Exploration of character depth and defining their goals and transformations.
- Session 4: Development of Dramatic Turning Points
- Extraction of dramatic turning points and tension from the novel.
- Converting these points into powerful scenes and events in the series’ screenplay.
- Presentation of practical examples to apply these ideas to the specified novel.

- Writing inspiring and realistic character dialogues.
- Building pivotal scenes that express dramatic turning points.
- Using dialogue to develop characters and present essential information.
- Session 8: Practical Application and Idea Presentation
- Practical exercise in writing pivotal scenes based on dramatic turning points.
- Presentation of ideas and exchange of experiences with other participants.
- Review and presentation of feedback for screenplay development.
ABOUT OBAYYA
Mohamed Hesham Obayya, a journalist and screenwriter, is known for the boldness of the subjects he addresses in his dramatic works. His most famous series, “Rise of the Spirit,” which tackles the extremist organization ISIS, achieved both popular and critical success, winning the Best Screenplay award from the Critics’ Award for Arab Drama. His series “60 Minutes” also garnered notable success as the first Arab series to delve deeply into the issue of “sexual exploitation.” He wrote the screenplay for the series “The Imam’s Message,” which won two awards for Best Long Series from the judging panel of the French NRJ Radio in its Arabic edition. He also contributed to writing the series “Every Friday” which was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Best Actress category
